Blackwater Falls is the highest falls in West Virginia and is a beautiful site to behold.
Dad set up her easel and palette and the young artist began her work...
To be honest... I was quite shocked at how well she was doing. I explained to her how to block in certain areas and she caught on quickly.

The impasto work of the cascading water was the part I liked the best. I showed her how to paint one tree and before I knew it she was putting Bob Ross to shame.

Want you to know I teach painting landscapes to adults, and I am also a K-12 art teacher...and your piece here is quite remarkable for so young a painter! Your dad is a good painter as well, and I recommend painting with him whenever you can, and listen up good!
He has a right to be proud of your accomplishment here! Well done....!!!

My dear Olivia,
What an amazing artist you are! I certainly wish someone had encouraged me as a youngster and you are ONLY 6??? OK, now I am throwing away my paints! It's a long road to be self taught & you are already on your way. Hooray!
I know your dad (a pretty great painter himself)from WetCanvas & have seen some other of your paintings there & can see marked improvement in your work!
Best of success in the future!

Olivia,
This is an awesome piece of art. You can tell that you love the outdoors and that you have a great gift in being able to paint so well. My daughter paints and draws too and I am proud of her and of you too. Remember it is a gift and always take care of it and help it to grow. Your Dad is a perfect teacher for you. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your artwork!

Olivia, I am soooo impressed. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! (Dad will explain that one) I am jealous that you have such ability at the age you are. I am only up to drawing stick figures these days...I could not imagine being able to paint like you! I thought your Dad had painted it when I first saw it! Then I figured it must be paint by number.....It is remarkable that you did this painting. Please continue to paint and PLEASE keep me on the mailing list. I can't hardly wait to see what you do next. I Love you, Erin
Livie, You are the BEST "Art Buddy" an artist could have! I love you and am very proud of you!
Dad
What a talented your artist! Keep it up, Olivia!

Olivia,
I do not have a Google blog account or anything to leave you a comment. But I did not want to let an opportunity to go by without telling you that God has really blessed you with your talent. Keep it up and continue to make lots and lots of people happy. I know your Momma and Daddy are very proud of you. Cherri
Olivia,
I am so proud to see a young artist do such a wonderful painting! Keep painting with your Dad and you'll learn lots of cool stuff about art. I'm very impressed with your work!
Dear Olivia,
Wow! What a beautiful replication of Blackwater Falls. I love to go there. I go to Oak Mar Restaurant once in a while, and now I will be able to tell everyone that my immensely talented little neice painted that picture. I am so proud of you.

Olivia,
You take a God given gift, water it with the love of the Holy Spirit and pretty soon that gift will give inspiration and hope to someone. I pray that your gift of painting will bring light into someone's day. I'm proud of you.
Mr. Ron
Dear Olivia,
I just saw your painting of Blackwater Falls. My mommy and me have been there many times, and it is a beautiful place to go. My mom said she would take me to Oak Mar to see the picture that you painted and I will brag to everyone that my cousin in NC did it! I am beginning to paint too, and will send you one of my artworks real soon. My mom said it would be nice for me to paint the place at Swallow Falls where your mom & dad got married.
Love,
Cousin Hanna in MD
Thanks for signing my blog everybody. You all are so nice! The other day I went painting at the Beirut Memorial. I went painting with my dad's OOPS group.

Dear Olivia,
I am so very proud of my little girl! You are so talented and I love seeing you create from your heart. God has blessed you with such a precious gift, I look forward to watching you grew in your art.
Love,
Mommy
WOW! Olivia...you and your Dad are true inspirations to other artists. You captured the essence of the beauty of the scene and what you have done is remarkable for someone as young as you. I would love for you to come demonstrate your talents to my classes just like your Dad has done several times! My middle schoolers would be amazed and perhaps motivated to see you in action! I have truly been blessed to have been able to work with your Mom at New Bridge! Thanks for sharing! (Ms.) Janet Nickle
Great Job Olivia, I couldn't paint like that at 8, or 48. Keep up the good work!
OLIVIA, I wish i could paint like that. Awesome!!!
Olivia,
WOW! Great job. I'm forwarding shots of your work to my friends so years from now I can remind them that I knew you when!
Olivia, I was admiring your dad's work when I discovered your beautiful painting. Wow! God has given you a wonderful gift. I love to paint, too, but you make it look so easy. You inspire me to practice more. Thanks for sharing your wonderful work. Hope to see more very soon! - Peg
Thank You for your comments!
Your Friend Olivia Rosage,
Hi, Olivia I walked around today seeing your Dad paint scenes of the Neuse. He was pleasent to talk with and to meet. The three paintings and areas to which he so skillfully laid on canvas was really close to home with me. As a small boy the thoughts raced through my mind of the tmes that I had 40+ years ago! It bought me back to the Countless walks and bike rides and parts of my life that I thought were gone and ereased forever. From digging up the old gun boat in the early
60's. Even the old train depo
that I could stil see as the dock hands loaded and stacked waiting box cars.To the many buildings to which he painted are still in place minus the people going in and out the doors. So Olivia thats the proof that your Dads work with a brush does have a meaning with each and every Stroke. So put your footprints in his and walk with your brush in your hand and one day you will make your art work come to LIFE!!!
